Marta Vieira da Silva - commonly known as Marta is a world-renowned Brazilian football player who plays as a forward for the Orlando Pride in the National Women's Soccer League and Brazil national team. This inspiring sportswoman has broken many records on the football field and is the most decorated female football player from Brazil.

Vieira da Silva holds the records for the only Brazilian player (male or female or other) to have 108 goals as well as the most goals scored at Fifa Women's World Cup with 17 goals. On top of this, she is the first football player to ever score at five World Cup editions. Vieira da Silva is seen as the best female football player of all time and has been consecutively named FIFA World Player six times with 5 being consecutive.

Vieira da Silva is also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador for women and girls in sport and is a fierce advocate for gender equality and women's empowerment. As the world's best female soccer player, Vieira da Silva, believes sports can be used as a tool for empowerment for women and girls throughout the world. Vieira da Silva overcame many gender barriers as a football player and she used that to give her strength and inspire the younger Brazilian generation. Ms. Viera da Silva is a very respected role model for Brazilian girls and women and stresses the importance of striving for change.
